How does it work?

MailBlue AI is designed to make building automations faster and easier. Using text prompts, you can describe in your own words what your automation should do. The AI will then translate your instructions into relevant actions and automatically build the workflow for you.

What prompts should I use best?

A "prompt" is a short text where you describe what you want your automation to do. The input field is flexible, so you can type almost anything. While MailBlue AI usually provides accurate results, complex or ambiguous commands might lead to unexpected outcomes.

Here are some tips to get the most reliable results:

List-based prompts

The most precise way to use AI Builder is to type a simple list of the actions you want to add.

Examples:

  • Send an email, wait a day, and add a tag.
  • Create a deal, add a task, wait a day, and update the deal.
  • Subscribe to a list and add a contact note.

Step-by-step prompts

Using numbered lists is a great way to outline repeated actions in a logical order. This is especially useful for task sequences or timed workflows.

Examples:

  1. Send 3 emails with a wait time in between.
  2. Create a deal and assign 4 tasks within a span of 3 days.
  3. Send 4 SMS messages over a span of 2 weeks.

Which automation actions can I build with AI?

MailBlue AI supports commonly used automation actions that can be configured using prompts. This section provides an overview of supported actions and a list of actions that are not yet supported by the AI.

Unsupported Actions

MailBlue AI supports a variety of automation actions, but some actions are not yet available.

  • Actions from apps (e.g., integrations).
  • If/Else conditions.
  • Split actions.
  • Go to actions.

We are working on expanding AI capabilities to include these actions in the future.

Legend

Here’s a quick overview of the actions you can configure using prompts and how to structure them:

Action Example
Wait “Wait 5 days.”
Add tag “Add a 'New Customer' tag.”
Remove tag “Remove the 'Inactive Customer' tag.”
Subscribe to list “Subscribe to the 'Main Contact' list.”
Unsubscribe from list “Unsubscribe from the 'Newsletter' list.”
Goal name “Add a goal called 'Subscribed' to the automation.”

💡 Tip: For actions that require specific inputs (e.g., a tag, list, or goal), place the input in quotation marks (“name”). This ensures that the correct item is configured in the automation. For example: “Add a waiting period of 3 days and then add an ‘Engaged’ tag.”
