How can I enable or disable double opt-in?

A double opt-in, or confirmation of subscription, is not (yet) mandatory in the Netherlands. For this reason, within MailBlue we give you the option to choose between a single or double opt-in.

The major advantage of a double opt-in is that people actually confirm that the email address belongs to them and that they have also entered the email address. This shows a higher level of interest. The downside is that some subscribers may forget to confirm their subscription, resulting in missed sign-ups.

Below is an explanation of how to enable or disable the double opt-in. If you want to know how to customise the confirmation email for a double opt-in, read this article.

  1. Click on 'Website' in the left menu
  2. Then click on 'Forms'

  3. Click on the form for which you want to customise the confirmation email.
  4. Click on 'Options' in the right menu.
  5. Then click on the "pencil" icon in the 'Form Action' section:



  6.  Toggle the double opt-in on or off under 'Subscription confirmation'.
