With (web)site tracking, you can fully track the sign-ups to your mailing list (your contacts) on your website. This way, you can see which pages someone visits and what a user is interested in. With this information, you can automatically send an email to everyone who, for example, has been in the shopping cart but has not made a purchase, or who has visited a certain page.
In order to make use of this, a small piece of code needs to be placed on your website. You can find this code in your MailBlue account and then place it in the footer of your website to prevent conflicts with other codes.
Copying the Tracking Code
You can find the code you need to place in your MailBlue account by following the steps below.
1. Go to the 'Website' section in the menu.
2. Click on 'Website tracking'.
3. Turn on 'Website tracking' by toggling the status switch.
4. Add the website URL under 'Trusted list and installation code'.
5. Place the tracking code on the website.
Placing the Tracking Code
The way you can place the code on your website varies depending on the website. If you use WordPress, you can easily place it in the footer using the 'Insert Headers and Footers Plugin'. This plugin can be downloaded for free from WordPress. Below is an image of this plugin:
If you do not use WordPress, you can ask your website builder for help. For example, a Phoenix website does not have a footer, so it is recommended to place the code in the 'body'.
In any case, we recommend placing the code in the footer of your website, if possible. This prevents issues with other codes that may be placed on the website, such as Google Tag Manager, which is often placed in the header.
