How do I create a link with Joomla?

Joomla is a content management system (CMS) that allows you to create websites and online applications. In this article, you will learn how to connect Joomla to MailBlue.

This integration synchronises subscriptions and unsubscriptions for MailBlue as soon as the user registers or updates their profile. To get started with this integration, you will need a MailBlue account and a Joomla account.

Please note: the following instructions only work with Joomla version 3.8.0.

How do I connect Joomla to MailBlue?

  1. Download the Joomla component zip file and log in to your Joomla account.
  2. Click on 'Extensions' in the top navigation menu. Then select 'Manage' and click on 'Install'.
  3. Next, upload the extension. You can choose to use the 'drag and drop' method or click the 'Or browse for file' button. Once done, you will see a green notification confirming the successful installation.
  4. After installation, a new MailBlue menu option will appear under 'Components'. Navigate to the 'Installation instructions' page.
  5. Follow the instructions to add or modify the correct files.
  6. You can find the default template options back on the 'Extensions' page, under the 'Templates' heading.
  7. Then, go to the 'Settings' page and follow these steps: 'Components' > 'MailBlue' > 'Connection settings'. Here, you need to enter the API details from MailBlue to establish the connection. You can find these API details in MailBlue under 'Settings' > 'Developer'.
  8. Next, go to the 'Select Lists' page to choose which lists will be displayed on the registration and profile forms. Click 'Save' when you are done.
