It is only possible to add a file to an HTML email. However, we do not recommend this as emails with attachments are often marked as spam. It is better to add a URL to your campaign or automation email that leads to the file instead.
Generating a Link (URL)
To create a link to a file, you can use the MailBlue Content Manager. You can find this by navigating to 'Campaigns' > 'Content' in your MailBlue account, under the 'Manage' section. With the blue 'Add File' button located in the top right corner, you can easily add files to the Content Manager.
Please note: It is not possible to add videos to the Content Manager.
Once the file is uploaded, you can click on it and then click on the gear/settings icon at the top of the file. You can now copy the URL and add it to a campaign or automation email. For example, you can paste the URL behind a 'Button' or use it as a hyperlink in the text of your email.
Keep in mind that only the following file types are supported in the Content Manager: jpg, png, gif, pdf. The maximum file size allowed is 10 MB.
Sharing Other File Types in Your Email
It is not possible to share videos, audio clips, or Excel files as attachments as they are also often considered spam-sensitive.
To learn how to share videos or audio clips in your email, read this article.
To share an Excel file, consider enabling the 'share file with third parties' option within the spreadsheet settings. You will then receive a link that you can paste into your email. Learn how to do this in this article. You can place this link behind a button in the email.
You can also choose to place the spreadsheet on a webpage of your website for download and link to that page.
Are you using a WordPress website?
You can also add the file to your WordPress media library. Subsequently, a URL will be automatically generated leading to a page where you can find this file. You can then place this URL in your MailBlue emails.
