Please note: Generally, we strongly advise against making adjustments in an active automation. This can lead to unexpected errors. Therefore, always set the automation to 'Inactive' before making any changes!
If it is a situation where it is necessary for the automation to be 'Active' (e.g. starting contacts in a specific place), it is better to set this aside.
Do you want to send an email in an automation on a specific date or at a fixed time? This can be done by adding a wait step. This article describes how to set this up.
In this article:
Sending on a specific date
- If you want to send an email on a specific date, you need to add a wait action to your automation first. Click on the plus sign for this.
- Under 'Conditions and workflow', you will find the 'Wait' option. Click on this.
- Then select 'Wait until a certain condition is met'.
- You can now enter your conditions. For example, if you want to send the email on January 1st, specify that the current month is January and the current day of the month is 1. Only when these specified conditions match the actual date, will the contacts move on to the next step. Click 'Finish'.
- Click 'Finish' again.
- Under the wait step, you can now add an email.
Sending at a specific time
If you want your emails to be sent at 8 o'clock in the morning, you can achieve this by adding a wait step in the same way. Then add 'Current time is 8AM' as a condition.
Please note: If you set your email to be sent at 8:00 and a contact arrives, for example, at 8:15 at this step, they will still receive this email. 8AM is considered as all time between 08:00 and 08:59.
