It is wise to clean up your lists every once in a while, so that your lists consist of active and engaged contacts. This will not only improve your open rates (number of opened emails), but will also reduce spam complaints, unsubscribes, and bounces. All of this to ensure that the emails you send actually end up in your contacts' inboxes.

How to measure which contacts are no longer active with your company / communication
Before you can remove the unengaged contacts, you first need to build an automation that 'measures' how engaged your contacts are based on assigned tags.
These are the Engagement Tagging Automation: Part 1 & 2.
After going through the automations as described in the above article, all unengaged contacts will eventually be assigned the tag 'Inactive'.
You can then choose to remove all contacts with the 'Inactive' tag at some point (or place them on an Inactive list if you do not want to completely remove them from the system).
How to remove inactive contacts (from a list)
Click on 'Contacts' in the left main menu. Above the contact list on the right, you will find a search bar. By clicking here, the option 'Advanced search' will be displayed. After selecting this option, you will have the opportunity to set conditions.
Here you can then choose the following conditions under the 'Contact details' option: 'Tag is Inactive'.
Then click on the blue 'Search' button and below that, the list of all contacts with this tag will be displayed.
You can now remove them from a specific list and place them on an inactive list.
Using the 'Edit' button, you can choose this action in the bulk editor (in this example based on other list names):
If desired, you can also tick all contacts and then remove them from MailBlue. Attention: this will completely remove the contacts from the system!
