How do I connect my domains to MailBlue Pages?

Which subscription do I have?

In this article, you will learn how to create subdomains for your landing pages and connect custom domains in your country.

Every landing page you have published in MailBlue has a domain based on your
account URL. You can use either the subdomain we offer or use a custom domain.

This article covers the following:

Subdomains of MailBlue landing pages

When using landing pages, a subdomain is automatically created for you on the MailBlue account. If your MailBlue account URL is 'demomailblue.activehosted.com', the subdomain demomailblue.ac-page.com will be created automatically. All pages you publish will be under the URL demomailblue.ac-page.com.

If you name a landing page 'Contact', your page will be live at:
demomailblue.ac-page.com/contact. Here, 'Contact' is the so-called page slug.

Connect your custom domain with MailBlue landing pages

If you prefer to use a different subdomain than the one offered by default, you can connect your own domain to MailBlue landing pages and use that domain.

To do this, you first need to log in to your hosting provider and add a CNAME record that points to your landing page domain.

This is a one-time action, after which you can select the domain for each landing page.

To connect your custom domain:

1. Log in to your hosting provider and add a CNAME record pointing to your landing page domain, and set a TTL (Time To Live) of 12 hours (if possible).

2. Open a new tab or window in your web browser and log in to your MailBlue account.

3. Once logged in to MailBlue, click on 'Website' in the left menu.

4. Click on the 'Pages' option on the left.

5. Click on the 'Domains' tab.

6. Click on 'Add new domain'.

7. A notification will appear to inform you about the domain names related to the Pages functionality. Click 'Next' here.

8. A pop-up window will open asking if you have already implemented your CNAME at your hosting provider.

If you haven't done this, click on 'I have not created a CNAME record in my hosting provider or have not waited 48 hours'. To proceed, you must first add the CNAME at your hosting provider. The value you need to insert will be displayed in the window.

If you have already added the CNAME at your hosting provider, click on 'I have created a CNAME record in my hosting provider that has been live for at least 48 hours'. Then enter the modified URL.

Configure your DNS settings

You can do this at your website's hosting provider.

General guide for adding your domain

1. Open a new tab in your web browser and log in to your hosting provider's website.

2. Go to the section of the website where you can change the DNS settings (for example, in advanced settings).

3. Find the section where you can add or modify a CNAME Record. Sometimes it is referred to as 'Host' records or 'Alias' records.

4. If there is an existing record where the 'Host' value is the same as your subdomain, you must first remove it before adding your CNAME with the same 'Host' value.

5. Add a new CNAME record to the 'Host' with the values as described above.

6. Click 'Save'.

If you use 'www' as your landing page subdomain, you also need to create a redirect in your DNS settings that points to the main domain. This ensures that your visitors go to the correct domain without typing 'www' first.

Verify your domain

If there is a yellow '!' next to your custom domain in MailBlue, it means that the system is still trying to verify your CNAME record.

If your DNS settings are incorrect and you have gone back to correct them, click 'Verify DNS settings' to submit a request to verify the new adjustments. Once your domain is verified, you will see a green checkmark.

It may take up to 48 hours for all DNS records to direct you to the correct domain. This is a standard for all website hosting providers. We, as MailBlue, cannot influence this further.

If your custom domain is not verified after 48 hours, this may be an issue with the hosting provider. Our support team will not be able to assist you further, but we recommend contacting your hosting provider's support team.

Add your custom domain to a landing page

Now that you have added your domain to Pages and adjusted the CNAME record in your DNS settings, you can use the domain for any new landing page you create.

1. In the Pages section of your MailBlue account, hover over the design of a landing page where you want to add your domain name. Click on the arrow next to 'Edit design'.

2. Select 'Edit URL'.

3. A pop-up will appear. Click on the 'Domain' dropdown and select your custom domain that you want to use for the landing page.

4. Click the 'Close' button.

Remove a custom domain

To remove a domain:

1. On the Pages page in your MailBlue account, click on the 'Domains' tab.

2. Hover over the domain you want to remove.

3. Click on the trash can icon.
