How do I integrate with SurveyMonkey?

SurveyMonkey is an online tool that allows you to create forms to gather information from your contacts. Of course, it is very valuable to also include this information in your MailBlue account. In this article, you will learn about the two ways to make this connection.

Linking MailBlue and SurveyMonkey with Zapier

You can allow MailBlue contacts to be added and/or updated with the answers you receive via SurveyMonkey. For this option, you will need a Zapier account and a paid annual subscription with SurveyMonkey. The answers from the form questions will end up in the custom fields within MailBlue.

  1. Use the Zap 'Add or update ActiveCampaign contacts with Surveymonkey responses' in Zapier
  2. You will then need to log in to your Zapier account if you are not already logged in
  3. Follow the steps in Zapier to set up your SurveyMonkey trigger
  4. When setting up the ActiveCampaign action, you will be asked for your API URL and API Key. Click here if you are unsure where to find these in MailBlue.
  5. Follow the steps in Zapier to complete the rest of your ActiveCampaign action

Once you are done, your Zap will be visible on your home page in Zapier. The toggle will be set to 'On', if it is not, you will need to manually switch it on.

Linking MailBlue and SurveyMonkey with a direct integration

This option allows you to add links to your SurveyMonkey forms in your campaigns and automation emails. However, your MailBlue contacts will not be updated with answers collected via SurveyMonkey.

You can set up this integration directly from the apps page in your MailBlue account. Before taking these steps, you need to have created a weblink in SurveyMonkey for your forms, otherwise they will not be visible in MailBlue. Click here for more information on creating a weblink in SurveyMonkey.

  1. In the MailBlue main menu, click on 'Apps' at the bottom left
  2. Search for SurveyMonkey on the apps page and click on the SurveyMonkey logo.
  3. Then click on the 'login with SurveyMonkey' button
  4. Next, log in with your SurveyMonkey credentials in the pop-up window and click 'Log in'
  5. From now on, your created SurveyMonkey forms will be visible among the personalisation tags in a campaign or automation emails. Learn how to use them in this article.
