Requirements for importing account CSV file
- Account name must be included in the file
- Date fields must be in this format: DD-MM-YYYY
- Multiple values for a field must be separated by comma(s): Option 1, Option 2
- Remove line breaks. Including line breaks in field values may cause the import to fail
How to import accounts in MailBlue?
1. Click on 'Contacts' in the left menu.
2. Click on 'Accounts'.
3. Click on the underscore next to the "Add an account" button.
4. Click on the 'Import Accounts' option.
5. A 'Import Accounts' pop-up will appear. Click on the 'Select File' button.
6. Click on the CSV file you want to import. The file will be uploaded.
7. Map columns from your file to fields in MailBlue. Note that we will attempt to automatically assign fields based on the headers in your file. In the column of field values on the right, you will see an example of field values.
To assign fields, click on each MailBlue field name dropdown to assign it to a column in your file. You can only assign one column to one field.
8. If you click on the 'Advanced options' menu, you can:
- Use default values for required fields left blank in your file.
If you do not provide a value for required fields in your file, or if you do not apply the default value option, the record will be skipped during import. - Overwrite existing data if columns in your CSV file are empty.
This is set to 'Off' by default. This means that existing data will not be overwritten by empty values in your CSV file. If you want to overwrite existing data with empty fields from your file, click the switch to set it to the "On" position.
9. Once you are ready, click on the 'Import' button.
The file will be imported into your MailBlue account. You can close the page while the import is being processed.

Account Import Issues
If errors occurred during the import, we display the number or rows in your file that contain an error. We also provide a CSV file with errors that you can download. You can use this download to learn more about which rows were not imported and why. This information is located on the Import Status page of your MailBlue account.
An error message in the file may be:
- Account ID not found
This error appears if you assigned the account ID and there was no exact match in MailBlue.
