How do I transfer the 'Organization' field to my 'Accounts'?

Please note: this feature is only available for Plus and Professional subscriptions.

With the 'Accounts' feature in MailBlue, you can capture account-level details about companies you collaborate with. Through this feature, you can store all associated account information in one organised place. This allows you to save and track details in account fields, merge all contacts within a company, create segments, and personalise campaigns with this (account) data.

This article covers the following topics:

What is the difference between the contact field 'Organisation' and 'Accounts'?

The contact field 'Organisation' was a standard field within MailBlue where you could add the company name to a contact profile. This data could be used in the segment builder, forms, deals, automations, campaigns, and API-related settings. This field has now been replaced by 'Accounts'.

Within the 'Accounts' feature, it is possible to store company details, such as the company name. In account profiles, you can store the following data using fields:

  • Company name
  • Email address
  • Description
  • Number of employees
  • Annual revenue
  • Industry/sector
  • Deals
  • Information collected through custom fields
  • Contacts associated with the company
  • Notes
  • Website

With 'Accounts', you also have the ability to use information from collected fields to segment contacts and personalise communication.

What happens to the original 'Organisation' field?

Are you currently using the 'Organisation' field in deals, forms, campaigns, created segments, automations, or via your API key? No worries. This is still supported. This segmentation option also remains available in the segment builder.

However, the organisations you have created will no longer be displayed on the 'Manage Accounts' page. Instead, each organisation you have previously created has now become a separate account. These accounts are now displayed on the 'Account Overview' page. Through this feature/tab, you can gather more information about each organisation, make notes, and view/add linked contacts.

If you have never used the standard 'Organisation' field, it is simply no longer available in your MailBlue account. Instead, you can directly start using the 'Accounts' feature to store data like this.

If you would like to learn more about 'Accounts' in general, we are happy to provide more information in this article.
