What is the difference between the number of clicks in the campaign overview and clicks on the report page?

This article describes the difference between various click reports.

The statistics in the campaign overview refer to the contacts who clicked on the link. However, the statistics on the click overview page refer to the total number of clicks.

For example:

  1. You send out a campaign.
  2. The campaign contains two links.
  3. The campaign is sent to three contacts: Jane, Kate, and Shirley.
  4. Jane does not click on any link.
  5. Kate clicks on both links in the campaign, but only once on each.
  6. Shirley clicks twice on the same link.
  7. This is displayed as:
  • '2 out of 3 contacts' in the campaign click overview, because Jane did not click on any link.
  • 'Total 4 clicks' on the click report page, because Kate clicked on 2 links, once on each, and Shirley clicked twice on the same link.
  • '3 unique clicks' on the click report page, because Kate clicked on 2 links and Shirley clicked twice on the same link. For unique clicks, only the first time a link is clicked is counted.
