A pipeline is a representation of your (sales) process, where you have a number of stages that a deal can or must go through. You can create an infinite number of pipelines. In this article, you will learn how to create a pipeline and how to customise it.

Creating a new pipeline

  1. Click on the 'Deals' tab in the menu

  2. Click on the dropdown menu in the top left and select 'Add a pipeline'

  3. A pop-up will appear where you can set up your pipeline.

  • Pipeline name: give your pipeline a name

  • Group access: select which user groups have access to this pipeline. You can select multiple groups by holding down Shift and clicking on the desired groups. Groups that are not selected will not have access to this pipeline (except for administrators, who always have access)

  • Default currency: select the currency you use the most here. All deals added to this pipeline will be added with this currency by default. The currency can always be changed in the deal overview.

  • Assignment method: select how you want to distribute the deals within the team. You can do this manually, or according to the 'round-robin' method, which means taking turns. The system looks at the date the last deal was assigned to each user and assigns the deal to the user with the oldest date to keep the distribution equal. Round-robin based on deal value is also possible. In this case, the system tries to keep the total deal value of each user equal by assigning the new deal to the one with the lowest total deal value.

    • If you have selected round-robin, you can still select under which users the deals should be distributed. The users you can choose from are the users in the group(s) selected under 'group access'. By default, this is set to 'all users in groups with access', but you can change this in the dropdown menu. Here you can select specific users. You can select multiple users at once by holding down Shift. Users not selected here will not be assigned deals in this pipeline.

  1. Once everything is set up correctly, you can click on 'add'

The pipeline is now created, and the three default stages are visible:

  • Contact

  • In contact

  • Follow-up

Modifying a pipeline

You can modify a pipeline you have created at any time. You can change the following components:

  • Pipeline name

  • Group access

  • Default currency

  • Assignment method

  • Users to whom deals can be assigned (if the round-robin method is chosen)

You can follow the steps below to change the settings:

  1. In the left menu, click on the 'Deals' tab and select the desired pipeline from the dropdown menu at the top left

  2. Click on the gear icon to the right of the pipeline name and then click on 'Options'
