You can filter in various ways within your pipeline. The standard options are filtering based on deal owner, status, and contact tags. You can also add another filter based on deal details or custom deal fields. In addition to filtering within a pipeline, you can also search for a specific deal within this pipeline or across all pipelines using the search field.
How does the pipeline overview work?
The image below shows the standard overview of a pipeline.
In the top left of the overview is the pipeline you have selected. By clicking the down arrow, a dropdown menu appears with all your pipelines. Here you can also add a new pipeline. If you click on the gear icon next to the pipeline title, you can adjust the pipeline settings, copy or delete it, or export all deals in this pipeline. In this article, you can read about how to create or edit a pipeline.
In the top right of the screen, there are options to add a stage, import deals, or manually add deals.
Above the pipeline stages, there is a bar where you can add filters to filter the deal overview. More about this is explained later in this article.
Pipeline views
The pipeline is displayed by default in a horizontal view. In this overview, the stages in your pipeline are displayed next to each other. In this overview, you can manually drag deals to another stage or mark them as won or lost (also by dragging them).
In the top right of the overview, you can select a different view:
You can choose a vertical view (three horizontal lines), where all deals in the pipeline are listed one below the other. You can then sort them based on:
Deal title
Contact name
Account name
Expected closing date
Deal value
Stage
Status
You can also choose a view based on tasks (checkbox). Here, deals are grouped based on the assigned tasks for the deals.
How can you filter?
When you click on the 'Deals' tab in the menu, you can select a pipeline in the dropdown menu at the top left. In this overview, you can then start filtering your deals. Various filtering options are available in the top menu bar.
Add a filter: filter based on deal details or your own custom deal fields.
Deal owner: filter based on the deal owner.
Status: filter based on the deal status: open, won, or lost (and see in which stage this deal is marked as won or lost).
Tags: filter based on tags that the primary contact person of a deal has.
The results will automatically update as the filters are adjusted. If you use more than one filter, this will always be seen as 'filter A' AND 'filter B'. So only deals that meet all search criteria will be shown. If you want to filter in a different way (OR), you can do so using the 'Advanced Search' function.
Searching for specific deals
In the search field, you can search for a specific deal (or deals) in the current pipeline. This can be based on the name of the deal or contact person. As you type, the results will be adjusted.
If you want to search in multiple pipelines, you can click on 'Search all pipelines', and then you can enter your criteria here.
Essentially, this works the same as the filter options just described, but this option searches all pipelines for matching results.
