Through automations, it was already possible to track purchases from your webshop directly in MailBlue. Since October 2022, MailBlue and Postmark have joined forces, allowing the sending of transactional emails to be added to the functionalities. This article covers the following points:
What is Postmark?
Postmark is software specifically designed for sending transactional emails. Transactional emails are messages that serve a different purpose than standard marketing-related campaigns and automation emails. Typical examples of transactional emails include:
- Invoice
- Order confirmation
- Password reset
Generally, transactional emails are sent via a different server than standard messages. This allows this type of emails to be delivered almost immediately to your contact's inbox, reducing the likelihood of them ending up in spam, for example.
Postmark can be a perfect addition to automating your e-commerce activities. MailBlue is already compatible with many e-commerce platforms such as WooCommerce and Shopify. With Postmark, you can set up the entire transactional flow directly from your automation.
Connecting Postmark to your MailBlue account
To use Postmark within MailBlue, you currently need to subscribe directly to Postmark.
Of course, it's nice to try out Postmark first before you are required to subscribe. You can request a free Postmark trial account here.
To establish the connection, you need to add a 'Send a transactional email' action from an automation.
When using this action for the first time, you can connect your Postmark account from here. From this screen, you can easily follow the steps to complete the connection. When your contacts pass the action within the automation, the email will be sent from Postmark.
Formatting emails within Postmark will also feel familiar. While you can only create emails in HTML within Postmark, the integration with MailBlue allows you to design the emails in our own designer and then easily export them to Postmark.
Through this link, you can directly request a non-binding trial account with Postmark, allowing you to send 100 transactional emails per month.
