If you have made changes to your automation and wish to undo them, you can revert to an earlier version of your automation. This can be done for both active and inactive automations.
Please note: Generally, we strongly advise against making changes to an active automation. This can lead to unexpected errors. Therefore, always set the automation to 'Inactive' before making any modifications!
If the situation requires the automation to be 'Active' (e.g. starting contacts at a specific point), it is better to set this aside.
In this article, we will explain how to revert the automation to a previously saved version:
-
Go to the relevant automation and click on the clock icon in the top right to view all previous versions. Here you will see the timestamps of changes and the user who saved these modifications.
-
Click on 'Preview' to check if it is the version you want to revert the automation to.
-
If you want to use the version again, click on 'Use this' to actually revert the automation to that version:
What happens to my contacts in the automation when I use an earlier version?
If there are already contacts in the automation when you click on the 'Use this' button, you will see each wait step where contacts are currently located. You will then have the option to choose to remove these contacts from the automation or move them to an existing wait step in the preview of your earlier version. Once you have selected the desired wait step, click on 'Use this' and the contacts will be moved there.
