Feature available starting from the Starter plan

With MailBlue's AI Translations for Email feature, you can send personalized email campaigns in each contact's language with a single send. This helps you increase engagement, build trust, and improve conversions across global audiences.

What do I need to know before I use AI Translations for Email?

Keep the following in mind:

  • AI Translations for Email supports 75 languages.

  • You need to purchase Activities to use this feature.

  • Each translated campaign send uses 1 Activity. If you send a campaign to 200 contacts and 50 contacts receive a translated version, that costs 50 Activities. There is no additional charge for contacts who receive the original campaign language.

  • AI Translations for Email is only available for the 'Standard' campaign type in the 'Email Designer'.

It is recommended to generate translations only after your email content is final. If you change the original campaign afterward, you need to regenerate all translations. Also review every translated email for accuracy before you send it.

How does AI Translations for Email work when I create a campaign?

You can turn on translations for every standard email campaign you create with the 'Email Designer'. This option is located on the campaign summary page.

Once you enable this feature, the system detects the preferred language of each contact in your list and generates the correct translation.

After the translations are generated, you can review each language and edit the content and images. You can then send the campaign to your subscribers.

How is the preferred language determined?
The system checks the language selected in the 'Preferred Language' field for each contact.

Important: this field is automatically created for new accounts purchased on or after June 24, 2025, and for resold accounts created on or after November 19, 2025.

Do you have an account from before June 24, 2025, or a resold account from before November 19, 2025? Then create a custom field named 'Preferred Language'.

  1. Click 'Contacts > Fields' in the left menu.

  2. Click 'Add Field'.

  3. A window opens:

    • Type 'Preferred Language' as the field name.

    • Select the field group.

    • Select 'Language' as the field type.

    • Click 'Add'.

Do you already use a field that tracks a contact's preferred language? Then map that field to the newly created 'Preferred Language' field. Your existing language field must be a dropdown field for the mapping to work.

  1. Go to the 'Manage Fields' page in your account and click the pencil icon for the 'Preferred Language' field.

  2. Select the checkbox for 'Automatically map values from an existing field.'

  3. Select the field you want to map.

  4. Click 'Next'.

  5. If prompted, map any new values. These dropdowns appear in red.

  6. Click 'Review all mapped values' to view all field values being mapped.

  7. When you are done, click 'Save'.

Once mapped, the new language field remains connected to the original field so you can continue using it without interruption.

If a contact does not have a preferred language set, that contact receives the default version of the campaign.

Reporting
You can view reporting as a single campaign, including breakdowns for each translated version.

How do I translate my standard campaign with AI?

  1. Create a standard campaign from the 'Campaigns' page.

  2. Enter all required information on the campaign summary page. This includes the subject line, from name, from email, recipients, and more.

  3. Select 'Email Designer' to create the campaign.

  4. Choose a template, use a blank layout, or use AI to create the email content, including images.

  5. Edit the email content and design as needed. Then click 'Next'.

  6. Select the checkbox for 'Translate to a contact's language.' This option is greyed out at first because it is not yet enabled.

  7. A window opens. Click 'Translate campaign'.

The AI immediately translates the email into all preferred languages. Depending on the content, this can take a few moments.

How do I review and edit translations before I send?

Once the translations are ready, you can review, edit, and save each translation.

  1. Click 'Review' next to the checkbox 'Translate to a contact's language' on the campaign summary page.

  2. A list of translations appears on the left. Click each translation to review the email content and design.

  3. Need to update content or images? Click the item you want to update, make the necessary changes, and click 'Save edits' on the left.

  4. When you are done, click 'Esc' or 'Close'.
